ETHICS

 

ARTICLES ::

  1. Members shall have an obligation to exercise honesty, objectivity, and diligence in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.


  2. Members, in holding the trust of the General Public shall exhibit loyalty in all matters pertaining to the affairs of the Training their students of to whoever they may be rendering a service. However, members shall not knowingly be a party to any illegal or improper activity.


  3. Members shall refrain from entering into any activity which may be in conflict with the interest of their profession or which would prejudice their ability to carry out objectively, their duties and responsibilities to the Institute, members, Nigeria and the general public at large.


  4. Members shall be prudent in the use of information acquired in the course of their duties. They shall not use confidential information for any personal gain nor in a manner which would be damaging to the welfare of their members, employers and the general public.


  5. Members, in expressing an opinion, shall use all reasonable care to obtain sufficient factual evidence to warrant such expression. In their reporting members shall reveal such material facts known to them which, if not revealed, could either distort the report of the results of operations under reviews or conceal unlawful practice.


  6. Members shall continually strive for improvement in the proficiency and effectiveness of their service.


  7. Members shall abide by the by-law and uphold the objectives of the Institute. In the practice of their profession, they shall be ever mindful of their obligation to maintain the highest standard of competence, morality, dignity, etc. which the NIPS and the Accreditation Council have established.

 

Sanctions for breaches of the Code shall be a fine, suspension from membership and accreditation. The amount of fine and the appropriate penalty shall be left at the discretion of the National Executive Council
